The following represents my body of work, ordered chronologically by publish date. Currently it consists largely of short fiction, though I plan to put out longer-form work—novels or novellas, if possible—in the future, as well as poetry here and there.

FICTION


You're Prepared (For Nothing That Will Happen, and Everything That Might)
2,400 words

A short fiction piece, regarding a teenage boy who toys with the idea of running away from his neglectful father. Explores themes of friendship and agency.

Written at age 16. Winner of the 2018 Taylor A. Greene Prose Contest. Published online in Blue Muse Magazine on February 26, 2019.

Moon-Stain and Crawdad Eater
4,000 words

A segmented story exploring the early life of two farm children and their mother, from the perspective of one of those children looking back as an adult. Explores themes of family, abuse, death, and holding on to fond memories.

Written at age 19. Published as an excerpt in the Long River Review 25th Edition bound journal on April 28, 2022. Later published in full on the LRR website on June 8, 2022.

Knell Inevitable
4,000 words

A short story in three parts. The narrator, on their sickbed, is visited thrice by their doppelganger, an omen of impending death. Somehow, despite this horror, the narrator and doppelganger form a bond in the short time they have together. Explores themes of death, love, and fear.

A short fiction piece exploring a young middle child's role in their family, always running to the support of others, at their own expense. Explores themes of family, obligation, invisibility, and sickness.

Written at age 21. Winner of the Jennie Hackman Memorial Prize in Short Fiction, 1st Prize. Published online by Long River Review on April 26, 2024.
